I'm listening to your "Paving Paradise" show on retail sprawl, and was struck by a confluence in timing. My brother just took off a day ago on multi-month trip across the country to photo document the impact of retail landscapes. He has started a tumblr site where you can follow his journey here: http://retaillandscape.tumblr.com Just wanted to let people interested in the subject know, as that's what a good brother does!

It's great that the Governor is investing in higher education at UCONN. But why is he slashing the ConnSCU (CT Community Colleges, CSUs, and Charter Oak) by $25M? We still can't fill faculty positions that were vacated three years ago. That's the conversation we need to have.

For Gov. Malloy. I'm probably one of the few leaning in favor of his wishing to do away with the Car tax to a point. I hail from Upstate NY and the difference in tax structure and taxes in general was shocking to me. I'm curious his goal in this move. Also what about gas taxes. Do we have a chance in relief at the pump? A $.30 hike in less than 2 weeks is staggering. I'm tempted to get a horse! I've been in CT nearly 10 yrs now and I find it a rather expensive state to live. Thank You
